Store 'n' Forward Microphones
DPS 400 Series

A breath of fresh air

Store'n'Forward technology is a real step forward for paging in busy environments or for broadcasting announcements repeatedly, for example, in foodstores, transport termini and departure gates.

The result of some two years of market research and development, these products demonstrate positive operational advances. They use the same housings as the standard Communication Technology DPM range of paging microphones so they present no visible challenge to the Operator.

Goodbye feedback!

Because any 'live' announcement is time delayed before being broadcast, acoustic feedback, howl-round, is eliminated.

The Paging Microphone is available in two basic versions:

DPS 402 A simple paging microphone incorporating Store'n'Forward technology to beat acoustic feedback problems and with automatic self cancelled, repeat.

DPS 400 Completely self-contained, DPS 400 can directly replace existing desk paging microphones with these key additional features:

Enables paging announcements to be made without acoustic feedback, as DPS 402.
Independent from a) to record and store up to 3 promotional messages and to automatically repeat them at selected time intervals until manually cancelled.

Both DPS 400 and 402 are 24V dc powered, from a plug-top power supply or from the host system to which they will be connected.

DPS 400: Single Zone Paging Microphone

Operating as a normal 'live' paging microphone, the paging announcement is made and stored for broadcast.
The delay between paging completion and broadcast is internally pre-set on installation to 5, 15, 30 or 60 seconds.
Announcements may be pre-set on installation to be automatically repeated once, twice, three or four times, after which they are self cancelled.
Announcements can be up to 2 minutes in duration.
An announcement can be manually cancelled at any time, including during the original recording, if an error is made or the operator is interrupted.
An internal chime can be selected to pre-announce any messages. Alternatively, any pre-announcement chime already included in the host system can be triggered by DPS 402; the announcement is automatically paused until the chime sequence is completed.
DPS 402 works with electronic or VOX accessed amplifiers. The microphone output can be at 'normal' or line level by 'D' pin selection.
If the host system is multi-tasked - various functional inputs - and is equipped with 'system busy' outputs, DPS 402 will not broadcast whilst the system is in another use; if a priority use activates during a DPS 402 announcement this will override the announcement which will recommence from its beginning after priority use ceases.

DPS 400: Single zone paging microphone with multiple stored announcement facility

This is identical in function to DPS 402 except that a facility to record and store up to 3 announcements that require individual or collective timed repeat is incorporated. Examples would be to advertise 'special offers' in stores and supermarkets or to announce a delay in flight departure at an airport.

Timed repeats

The user can select a repeat time of 5, 15, 30 or 45 minutes between replays or they can be remotely triggered at any time, for an evacuation message for example.

Simple to operate

To record an announcement for repeated use, the user simply selects 'ENABLE' mode and proceeds with the announcement, which can be up to 1 minute in duration and manually cancelled at any time.
